Summer is in full swing. A number of community groups in collaboration with the NYC Parks Department and frequently some measure of government funding, have put together a summer full of free summer theater in the parks. The free theatre events listed below are designed for young and old alike and they're FREE.

Location. Bronx Terminal Market is located 610 Exterior Street in the Concourse neighborhood of the Bronx. The event is held on the 6th floor which you may access via the elevator.

Note. There are pre-film activities, which in the past included popcorn and music, starting at 6.30 pm. Films begin at 7.30 pm. In the past the pre-film events included a Live DJ, Photo Booth, Face Painting, Popcorn and other Giveaways, although none of that was mentioned in the listing. It's also worth mentioning that there's pretty limited seating so bring a blanket or lawn chair to sit on.

• Daily April 11 - October 30, 2022 - Walk Among Dinosaurs. This isn't a movie per se, but perhaps even better than one. The Bronx Zoo has an exhibit of 52 life-sized dinosaurs, some of which have animatronics in them.

Location. The area of the park featured here begins in the southeast corner of the park at Broadway and Van Cortlandt Park South. The #1 subway ends at West 242nd Street along the park. After crossing the street, head north [north is to your left before crossing the street] and walk about 500 feet looking for the Van Cortlandt House Museum. The parade ground, where the movies are being shown, is another 500 feet north of the house / museum.

Note. Pre-film activities begin at 7.30 pm and the films generally begin at 8.30 pm [dusk]. You might want to bring a blanket to sit upon.
