This report provides a schedule of the parades held in the Bronx each year.

We update parades and festival events as we approach the event date. This year the Asterisked events have NOT been updated to 2025. Pay attention to the dates / year.

The parades include the Bronx Three Kings Celebration, the St. Patrick's Day Parades in March, the Easter celebrations in April, the Bronx Cinco de Mayo Celebrations, the Bronx Puerto Rican Day Parade Festival, the City Island Memorial Day Parade in May, the Feast of St. Anthony, the Puerto Rican Day Parade [Manhattan] and Hunts Point Fish Parades in June, the Bronx Dominican Parade, Pride Festival, Our Lady of Mt Carmel Festival and Carnival de la Cultura Latina Festival in July, Ghanafest in August, the Central American Independence Parade, an African Heritage Celebration and Ferragosto in September, the Bronx Columbus Day and Kids Halloween Parade in October and the NYC Marathon and the Bronx Veterans Day Parade in November. • Friday, January 3, 2025 beginning at x pm [it was 4 pm in 2024] - Three Kings Day Cultural Celebration - at the James Monroe Community Center at 1776 Story Avenue in the Soundview neighborhood of the Bronx. In 2025 they described the event as follows, " ... [The] event will feature culturally diverse memorabilia, handmade crafts, and other items all related to Puerto Rico from sweets and spices to apparel. Moreover, the first 20 guests to register will get to participate in our Paint and Praise portion of the event in which they will paint the iconic "three kings" on a canvas with guided instruction ...". • Throggs Neck _ Sunday, March 16, 2025 - 27th Annual Throggs Neck St Patricks Day Parade in the Bronx. At 9 am there's a mass at St. Benedicts at 2969 Otis Avenue, followed by a 10 am breakfast in the Father Albert Hall. At 11 am assembly begins at Lafayette and East Tremont Avenue, from where the parade steps off at 12 noon. The parade marches south on East Tremont Avenue, through the Throgs Neck commercial district, ending about a mile and a half later at Harding Avenue and East Tremont Avenue, where a mobile stage is usually set up for parade speechs and entertainment. The parade lasts about an hour, but the festivities continue after the parade. The parade is organized by the Throggs Neck Benevolent Association [aka TNBA]. • Eastchester _ Sunday, March 16, 2025 - 19th Annual Eastchester St. Patrick's Day parade. The parade kicks off at 3 pm at the Immaculate Conception School on Main Street in Eastchester north of the Bronx. It marches north onto Route 22 / White Plains Road and ends at the Lake Isle Country Club. St. Patrick's Day parades in Westchester County. • Yonkers / Bronx _ Saturday, March 22, 2025 - 67th Annual Yonkers St. Patrick's Parade. The parade begins at 1 pm and marches up what they call the Emerald Mile, which is along McLean Avenue aka 240th Street / Nereid Avenue. The parade begins at Bronx River Road / Webster Avenue and marches west to Coyne Park in Yonkers. The Parade Dinner Dance precedes the parade by a week on Saturday, March 8, 2025. • Concourse _ Thursday, March 27, 2025 beginning at 3 pm - Yankee Home Opener vs Milwaukee Brewers - at Yankee Stadium at East 161st Street and River Avenue in the Concourse neighborhood of the Bronx.  For details and $78 on up tickets, see - https://www.mlb.com/yankees/

• NYC _ Saturday, March 29, 2025 beginning shortly after sunrise there's a 'Partial' Solar Eclipse in NYC. The peak darkening period may be missed as it is only a partial in the morning after sunrise. Be sure to take proper precautions 1) in evaluating any eyewear you use to view it, and 2) if you do view it, do so briefly, as staring at the sun can cause severe eye damage. The NY Public Library is handing out free solar eclipse glasses. The next total eclipse of the sun is May 1, 2079 - so don't hold your breath.

• Pelham Bay Park _ Saturday, April 12, 2025 from 10 am to 12 noon - Easter Egg Hunt - at the Bartow Pell Mansion at 895 Shore Road in Pelham Bay Park. The hunts are four one hour long sessions starting every hour on the hour, costing $15 per child, and adults accompanying children are free. • NYC _ Saturday, April 12 - Sunday, April 20, 2025 - Passover. The Jewish celebrating their flight to freedom from slavery in Egypt thousands of years ago. Communal feasts, also known as Seders are generally held the first night.

• Queens & NYC _ Friday, Saturday & Sunday, May 2, 3 & 4, 2025 at various times but generally from 10 am to 5 pm - Janes Walk Weekend - at 200 locations in all five boroughs. Various art, culture, history and architectural tours throughout all five boros of NYC. Free. They describe the event as follows, " ... MAS staff organize a fleet of volunteer walk leaders, to create 200+ FREE, in-person, virtual, and on-demand walks with over 10,000 participants ... During Jane’s Walk NYC weekend, the simple act of exploring the city is enhanced with personal observations, local history, and civic engagement."... Organized by the Municipal Art Society. • Queens & NYC - Sunday, May 4, 2025 first wave beginning at 7.30 am & officially over at 6 pm - 5 Boro Bike Ride. It starts between Canal Street and the Battery in Manhattan, depending on the cyclist wave folks are in. And it ends at Fort Wadsworth on Staten Island. The parade begins at 11.30 am at Fordham Plaza and marches 2 miles north [I believe along Webster Avenue], ending at the Bronx Week Fair on Mosholu Parkway & Bainbridge. The Bronx Week Fair begins at 12 noon [ends around 6 pm] along Mosholu Parkway between Bainbridge and Van Cortlandt Avenue East. It will include food, music and entertainment.

• OLD NOTE DATES _ Saturday, May 4, 2019 from 3 - 9 pm - Cinco de Mayo Celebration - At Pier 132 [a bar] in the Port Morris neighborhood of the South Bronx. Cinco de Mayo celebrations in the Port Morris neighborhood of the South Bronx. FYI - This is a bar promotional event, which I posted only because I couldn't find any major general public events celebratiing Cinco de Mayo in the Bronx, which I found surprising.

• OLD NOTE DATES _ Saturday, May 5, 2018 from 11 am to 9 pm - Cinco de Mayo Celebration - At 2069 Bruckner Blvd in Unionport. There will be a half dozen or more musical groups - $20 admission. 646.406.6587.

• * Baychester _ Saturday, May 25, 2024 from 4 - 5 pm the Bronx Fashion Week will be at the Bay Plaza Mall at 200 Baychester Avenue in the Bronx. Models will be walking the runway. • * Longwood / Melrose _ Saturday, May 25, 2024 from 11 am - 6 pm. Official National Puerto Rican Day Parade Street Festival / Annual 152nd Street Cultural Festival - Along 152nd Street between [Prospect & Westchester Ave] Jackson & Tinton in the Longwood / Melrose neighborhoods of the Bronx. It's one of the largest Puerto Rican street festivals in NYC. The National Puerto Rican Day Parade is held two weeks later 6/9/24 in Manhattan.

• * Van Nest _ Monday, May 27, 2024 beginning at 12.15 pm - Van Nest Memorial Day Procession, Ceremony & Flower Drop - at Van Nest Memorial Plaza at 1669 Unionport Road just south of Van Nest Park at Van Nest Avenue and White Plains Road in the Van Nest neighborhood of the Bronx. • * City Island _ Monday, May 27, 2024 from 2/2.30 - 4 pm - City Island Memorial Day Parade & Festival - The parade begins along City Island Avenue, starting at Caroll Street. The parade marches north stopping at Hawkins Park where there is a Memorial Stone for WWII Veterans, then marches on to the Pelham Cemetery, which is on the eastern end of the island between Tier and Ditmars Streets. After visiting the cemetery, they march to the southern foot of the bridge where there is a Veterans Memorial Triangle, before turning back around and ending at American Legion - Leonard Hawkins Post 156 at 550 City Island Avenue. • * Friday, Saturday & Sunday, May 31 - June 2, 2024 from 3.30 - 7 pm Friday, from 12 noon - 7 pm Saturday & 12.30 pm - 6 pm Sunday - South Bronx Cultural Festival. A celebration of Bronx culture at Father Gigante Plaza in front of St. Athanasius Church at 878 Tiffany Street in the Longwood neighborhood of the Bronx. There will be music, dancing and theater done in collaboration with BAAD, the Bronx Arts Ensemble, Ori-Gen Collective and the Bronx Heritage Music Center. Free. • * Bronx Little Italy / Belmont _ Wednesday - Sunday, June 5 - 9, 2024 from 5 pm to 9 pm weekdays & from 12 noon - 7 pm on Saturday & Sunday - The Feast of St. Anthony. It's the annual Feast of St Anthony at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 627 East 187th Street at Arthur Avenue. The triangle of streets along Cresent and Arthur Avenues & 187th Street in the Little Italy section of the Belmont neighborhood in the Bronx will be celebrating the Feast of St. Anthony with a street fair with rides, games, raffles, food and entertainment every night. Officially the street fair is being held along East 187th street from Arthur to Beaumont Avenue, and along Crescent from Cambreleng to Belmont Avenue. • * South Bronx _ Saturday, June 15, 2024 from 11 am to 4 pm - The 21st Annual Hunts Point Fish Parade & Festival. The event begins with pre-parade registration & activities usually beginning at 11 am [free]. The parade begins at 12 noon at The Point CDC at 940 Garrison Avenue and marches down to Hunts Point Riverside Park at 1409 Lafayette Avenue at Edgewater Road [just across the Bronx River from Soundview Park] where the festival begins, generally around 1 pm. • Friday June 21, 2024 - Make Music New York returns for its 18th year. They are coming to numerous locations around the entire city at various times on the day of Summer Solstice in all five boroughs of NYC. The photo at right was taken in a prior year of one of the many 'Make Music NY Musicians' who bring a bit of joy to NYC on the day of Summer Solstice. While technically the solstice falls on the 20th this year, it is being celebrated by Make Music NY on Friday the 21st.

• * Kingsbridge Heights _ Sunday, June 23, 2024 from 12 noon to 6 pm - Carnaval de la Cultura Latina will be at 195th Street between Reservoir and Jerome Avenues. There will be live entertainmnet on the main stage, as well as appearances by government officials, as well as food and shopping stands, and a number of booths operated by city and state agencies and local businesses. • * Saturday, July 6, 2024 beginning at 5 pm gathering, 7 pm concert and 9 pm - Coop City Independence Day Fireworks in the Bronx - at the Little League Field in Co-op City in the Bronx. People will start gathering around 5 pm, there's a concert by the Unique Band at 7 pm and the fireworks show will begin around 9 pm. This fireworks display hasn't happened since prior to the pandemic [I think 2019 was the last show], and after giving up hope that it would resume, it appears to be returning. • * Grand Concourse _ Sunday, July 28, 2024 beginning at 11 am - Bronx Dominican Parade aka Gran Parada Dominicana Del Bronx - Along the Grand Concourse from 167th to 176th Streets. The main performance stage is at 176th Street on the Grand Concourse where there will be speeches and performances from 11 am to 5 pm. The parade starts at 1.40 pm and the parade / festival ends by 5 pm. • OLD / PRIOR YEAR _ Related to one of the Parades / The Festival Popular Duartiano - Along Clay Avenue between Claremont Parkway East and East 173rd Street in the South Bronx. This Bronx street fair is also the place where folks will go following the Dominican Independence Parade on Sunday, July 29. Bronx parades in Claremont Village Bx NYC.

• * 2024 _ LIKELY PERMANENTLY DISCONTINUED _ DID NOT RETURN IN 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023 _ Friday, Saturday & Sunday, July 26 - 28, 2019 - Panorama Music Festival on Randall's Island - There's a series of modern music concerts entitled Panorama Music Festival running all weekend long on Randall's Island. There are three stages which will feature literally dozens of highly regarded bands and musical artists over the weekend. Generally the times run from about noon until about 10 pm [music - $125 rsvp www.panorama.nyc].

• * 2024 LIKELY PERMANENTLY DISCONTINUED _ * THIS WAS CANCELLED IN 2021 & DID NOT RETURN IN 2022, 2023 _ N&WB _ Saturday & Sunday, June 8 & 9, 2019 from 12 noon - 6 pm. Riverdale Riverfest - At College of Mt Saint Vincent at 6301 Riverdale Avenue in Riverdale. This is a Hudson waterfront Hudson River festival that includes live music, re-enactment of a medieval battle and boat rides on a schooner and whaler. Street fairs in the Riverdale neighborhood of the North & West Bronx. Organized by the Kingsbridge Riverdale Van Cortlandt [KRVC] Development Corp.x

August Parades & Cultural Festivals in the Bronx NYC 2024

• * RECURRING _ Fordham _ Saturday, August 3, 2024 from 4 to 10 pm - Bronx Night Market - in Fordham Plaza at East Fordham Road and Third Avenue across from the Metro North Railway Station. This is mostly a food market versus a street fair in the Fordham neighborhood of the Bronx. It returns every first Saturday of the month from April through October 2024. August 3, September 7 and October 5, 2024 remain.

The festival begins this weekend at various locations throughout NYC, but most notably in the Woodside, Jackson Heights, Jamaica and Richmond Hill neighborhoods in Queens. Durga Puja celebrates the goddess Durga, who is a motherhood figure representing the victory of good over evil. The celebrations, which cover a week of activity, are also something of a Hindu harvest festival. The Professional Wheelchairs take off at 8 am, the Handcyclists at 8.22 am, the Professional Women at 8.40 am, and the Professional Men at 9.05 am, with the last wave at 11.40 am. Staten Island is the starting poinit, while Brooklyn is the first leg, the Queens segment of the course is around the midpoint before heading into Manhattan, then north to the Bronx over the Willis Avenue Bridge, where they do a U turn by heading west over the Madison Avenue Bridge before turning south into Manhattan and Central Park.   • So you can do some math to figure out when to greet them in your borough. The fastest men complete the race in a bit more than two hours, while the average is 4 hours and 40 minutes. Bronx Holiday Events 2023

NOTE. The parade season for 2023 is over, but there are plenty of Bronx holiday events to enjoy. The next cultural celebration is the Three Kings event which generally occurs on January 5, 2024, followed by Chinese New Year celebrations which, although technically occuring in February, is oftentimes celebrated in advance of that time.
